Deep inside the former DDR on a abandoned railtrack there are standing some 30 rusty steam locomotives [Dampfloks]. Walking between these steel giants is simply stunning and impressive. So much old steel with a wide variety of very fine tonal differences. All though the decay on these awesome locomotives is beautiful to see, what a sight it must have bin in the good times. |
The high pressured steam, the fired coal and the boilng water all together necessary to get things rolling. Busy workman pitch-black from the coals, it was a dirty and dangerous way of transport. Hopefully these locomotives will be reconverted... |
