The wooden sawmill was built in 1932 and is left abandoned since 1983. The steam sawmill still contains the complete equipment, including some interesting ancient looking steam engines (The Noble, Nolet and Bracq, manufactured in 1902 and bought second hand in 1932). From the mid 1980s steps were taken to protect the complex as a historic landmark, a museum for lost craftwork or a place to expose artwork. However the costs to preservation where high and nothing is done to protect the complex for further decline.

For more then 27 years of abandonment the protected monument has undergo some serious damage. A lot of roof and constructions have collapsed. Walking between the ruins one could have the feeling that some structures could collapse any minute! Today the whole place is taken over by nature! A fascination sight to see, but a pity for the monument that has great potention for preservation.
