Carcoke Tertre is a gigantic large coal washing and processing plant. With some dozens of abandoned buildings, including ancient equipment. After being bankruptcy Carcoke Tertre is left abandoned. The abandonment makes that metal is corroding and structures started to decay. Nature is slowly going to overgrown the site.

There is a desolate atmosphere hanging around Carcoke Tertre. Everywhere it smells like lubricating oil, petrol and mixed combinations of other unknown materials. The chemical labs are full with bottles containing a wide diversity of liquids which only god knows it's content. Newly made tire tracks, railroads that still seem to be in use. It's clearly that i'm not the only person who's checking the site. There are lots of footprints left in the coal dust, grass is crushed and dogs have left their marks all over the site. The offices are overloaded with documents and dossiers. Original blue prints are spread all over the floor.

Working clothes are still hanging in the changing rooms. There is a complete fire department located on the site, including all sorts of sizes and types of fire extinguishers. A gigantic large silo complete with a big wheel, which conveyor belt transported the coals into the large and deeply funnels. These funnels dumped the washed coals straight into the stand by coal wagons of the goods train. Everything in the silo is covered with a thick layer of coal dust. The workshop contains huge tools and instruments to fine tune the giant machines.

Unfortunately carcoke tertre is demolished in 2002. This was also done with dynamite, Belgium television has showed the Spaque explosions on TV. After the demolition the ground that is left behind, is so heavily polluted that it will coast millions of euro's to clean up, before it is allowed to build something new.
